Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi is considered the greatest person of the 20th century. He got independence for his country India from British rule through non-violent movement. Born in a place called Porbandar in the Indian state of Gujarat, he received higher education in the UK and made South Africa his career. He believed that even the enemy can be defeated through love and non-violence. He was called Mahatma because he embodied truth, non-violence, love and tolerance in his own life.
