This Book is the culmination of many years of detailed research. The authors have covered an area which include not only Varanasi District but Chandoli and Bhadoi, two new Districts that were carved out of the erstwhile greater Varanasi District.
All the plants mentioned have a direct use in Ayurveda and are found both as purposely cultivated plants as well as wild plants often mistaken for weeds by those ignorant of their true use. Both authors closely associated with Banaras Hindu University have prepared this volume to serve not only the academic community but the general public also with a view to saving many of these rare and medicinally useful plants.
