Filingo is a novel based on women's self-esteem and self-determination. Women face many forms of violence in society. Women have been suffering from such abuses for ages due to ignorance and lack of awareness. The novel has given the message that a dignified life should be lived and life should not be made a stagnant pond in the absence of consciousness. Based on the environment of Japan and Nepal, the main character of the novel is exploited by the border patriarchy. He realizes in time that he should not be exploited in this way and fights for survival and finally succeeds. In these contexts, the sensibilities of Japanese women and Nepali women are also linked.
फिलिङ्गो पूँजीवादी अर्थव्यवस्था र पितृसत्ताको शोषणमा परेकी सीमान्तीको अस्तित्व निर्माणको कथा हो । उपन्यासमा सीमान्तीको मूल कथासँग आप्रवासी श्रमिकका व्यथा, महिलामाथि समाजले गर्ने हिंसाका अनेक तह र पैसाको पछाडि भौंतारिन बाध्य भौतिकवादी जीवनका पीडा रोचक ढङ्गमा जोडिन आएका छन् । मात्चुयामा सहरको केन्द्रमा बुनिएको यस उपन्यासले जापानसम्बन्धी अनेक तथ्य र त्यहाँको इतिहास, संस्कृति र संस्कारका विविध सन्दर्भलाई वर्णनात्मक शैलीमा उतारेको छ ।
नारीमाथि हुने गरेका दमनको अन्त्यका लागि सामाजिक सचेतनाका साथै महिलाको आत्मविश्वास र अठोट आवश्यक छ भन्ने चेतनाको झिल्को बाल्ने काम फिलिङ्गोले गरेको छ । पूँजीवादी अर्थव्यवस्थाका कारण पैसाका लागि जीवनलाई दाउमा लगाउन बाध्य विकासोन्मुख मुलुकका जनताको जीवन कति सङ्घर्षपूर्ण छ भन्ने विषयलाई फिलिङ्गोले समेटेको छ ।
