Himalayan Children

Growing up in Sikkim, Nepal and Pakistan (1970-2014)
Product Details

An insightful look at the interesting world of youngsters from Pakistan, Sikkim, and Nepal can be found in Himalayan youngsters. Despite sharing similar ambitions, these kids are raised in quite different environments and cultures. Famous photographer Fritz Berger respectfully caught the joy and problems of children in this portrait, which was taken in 1973. Most of these images were taken by Fritz during his extended stays of employment in northern Pakistan in the 1980s and Nepal in the 1970s. He has made numerous trips to India after getting married in 1980 to a woman from the Bhutia ethnic tribe in Sikkim.

"I advise everyone interested in the study of children and the people living in the Himalayan region to enjoy this original piece of work that is vibrant with creative imagination and skills."
