About the Coloruing Book.
Nepal is rich in flora and fauna. More than 6500 flowering plants have been reported native to
Nepal. Here only 14 common native flowering plants found in Nepal have been illustrated and described in this book.
The coloring book is designed to introduce and build up the capacity to identify the native flowers found in different localities especially for the younger generation. Each plate is described with scientific and common names with brief descriptions. The key images are provided in the first page.
All the drawings are originally illustrated directly from the naturally found and some cultivated at different locations of Kathmandu Valley.
Note to Teachers and Parents
This coloring Book has been specially prepared for the students of art aged 8-16 years to old age group who take an interest in art and nature. Teachers and parents are advised to take students and children to botanical gardens, parks and guide drawing and painting in nature.
Some of the colouring pages have been slightly modified in the background of the composition from the reference key color page in order to bring creative interest among the students. Students can use colour pencil, pastel colours or water based poster colour. After finishing to colour them, it is suggested to frame and display in the class rooms or study rooms.
